Long-distance move from Murrysville, PA to Fairfax, VA

Theft.

Absolute scam & theft. Of course wish I could provide negative stars.

Picked up everything I own on morning of Wednesday, Oct. 30. Was assured it was a same-day delivery (which I paid for) for afternoon Wednesday, Oct 30. Items already on the truck when they arrived. Large yellow box truck with no writing on the sides. "Movers" moved everything onto truck except bed and then requested more money. Helpless at that point with all of my things on truck, I had to pay extra. Highway robbery.

It is Sunday, November 3, and the truck STILL has not showed at delivery location, despite persistent calls and complaints and demands to locate the truck. Paid hundreds in expenses for hotel, toiletries and clothes and shoes for work. Drivers cannot be reached despite persistent calls and texts.

Long-distance move from Alabama to Missouri

The Worst Most Unprofessional Company.

This company is a total rip off. They quoted a small price then doubled it. They showed up with a truck almost full. And two movers. Was informed that they put a ad on Craigslist to get more help to move our stuff. I called and complained about total strangers not affiliated with the company just showing up randomly. So at about 8pm after they moved somethings around on the truck to try to fit the furniture on ,they started moving. They didn't finish until about 3am. Where they were supposed to be at the house at 10 am that morning. They damaged my wooden flooring by dragging furniture across it and knocked a hole in the a wall. Then because of the space I was informed that they will have to make a second trip which in turn doubled the cost. The second day they showed up to get the last 15 items. Which could have fit on the first truck if it was packed correctly. We asked for proof of how much space was used and weight of our things only. None was provided. When we spoke to the owner Alex he was very rude and insulting to my wife. Then stated he didn't want to do the move any more after they were already gone with our things. We continued to ask for a weight and measurements of how much space was used it was never provided. Then he said that we didn't pay him on pick up. Luckily we paid by money order. Then we could not get a estimate delivery date. And finally the day before they said they will deliver by 10 am the next morning but they showed up at 7pm that night. And said they were told we had to pay another 5500 dollars. After going back and forth he said we still owe 3600 dollars. We asked for proof of of the weight and measurements and was informed that if we wanted our stuff we had to pay the money first. They only had two movers again and one of them was injured. Then some strange fellows showed up and informed my wife that they were responding to an ad on Craigslist. She asked them to leave and they refused. This Alex fellow told the movers that they were going to move our stuff anyway whether we liked it or not. She had to call the police to get them to leave. 90 percent of our stuff had been opened and crushed. Furniture was broken and damaged. They dropped our dryer and broke the glass door. Some of the furniture got broken while they were taking it off the truck. They left some in the rain. Some boxes were left in the edge of the truck while it was raining and got soaked. The guys dropping off were politer than the first crew. They finished about 1:30 am unloading. They were supposed to put things together but they had no tools to do so. Then they had items that didn't even belong to us mixed in with our things.I do not recommend this company to anyone. If you care about your things and your saftey do your research first. This is the worst experience with moving I have ever had. I have moved around the world and back and have never run into a company like this one.

Long-distance move from Clifton, NJ to Tampa, FL

Happy with the service.

The movers arrived on time. They did a great job overall. They packed all the furniture meticulously and efficiently. They accommodated all our requests as we had not packed everything before their arrival. All the furniture and packages were packed and transported in a professional manner without any damage.I highly recommend them, I made a mistake by not giving them enough time notice for when I was ready for delivery in my new home in Tampa FL so had to wait for it, make sure you give them at least 5-7 days notice so you don't have wait long or delivery.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Nevada

Scammers.

I had hired them to move to Arizona. I asked for my stuff to be there on April 1st it didn't get there to April 9th. I called the 800 number and Andy answered and said that he wasn't the owner so a girl named Christine called me and said she was the owner come to find out that she wasn't the owner she was an employee of Andy. Her real name is Nicole not Christine. When my stuff arrived I had damaged stuff and Andy didn't want to do nothing about it. As well Andy has people working from there homes where he gets them a vonage box and get a 201 area code so clients can think that there in a office. This is the worst moving company. All they do is scam people for there money and are a fraud. Andy has workers working from NJ to other states. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Someone really needs to look more into this company and have them shut down.

Long-distance move from Phoenixville, PA to Chicago, IL

Worst moving experience ever-they stole my rug.

I was moving the equivalent of a one bedroom apartment from Philly to Chicago. The original estimate was over the phone based on truck space. They did not specify that they outsource the move between three different vendors. When the (non-commercial) truck came to pick up the stuff 6+ hours late, they were unprofessional/rude and after packing said that the cost was actually going to be another $200. The stuff was already on the truck so there wasn't much of an option. We paid in cash. The original sales person, Michael, said it would take 5-7 days to deliver. Two weeks and multiple calls that weren't responded to later, I got a random call from another third party vendor telling me that my things would be delivered the next morning (it was the afternoon). I moved into an elevator building where you need to reserve an elevator. Luckily, the next day wasn't already booked (they cancelled) so I could have them move the stuff in last minute. When they arrived (in a non-commercial truck), they REFUSED to park in the back loading area where the building manager told them to go and insisted on unloading in the front. Then told me they needed another $150 because they had to walk more than 75ft (because they parked in the wrong spot!) and wouldn't unload until I paid the money in cash! When they finally did unload, I noticed that the most expensive item in the move (a $1500 oriental rug) was not part of the delivery. It was marked on the paper as being packed. The vendor told me he has asked at the facility he picked it up at since he "also noticed I was short one piece" but they told him the additional rug was rolled between another rug (NOT true and you'd know that if you've ever moved before). He checked the truck and let me check the truck to see if the rug was there--no where to be found! He said he could only have it marked and labeled as missing so he did. I have tried unsuccessfully for weeks to get a response about the missing rug. When Christine/Christina does bother to call back, she said I can submit the claim but it's probably not worth it since I'll only get the cost of the rug weight not the cost of the rug itself. I'm 100% convince they STOLE that rug knowing full well it was expensive. I will also say that a had multiple dishes broken. This company is extremely unprofessional and rude, unresponsive, thieves and a waste of time and money!
I literally would beg you to USE ANY OTHER moving company or just move yourself if possible. Moving is hard enough without a crappy moving company stealing and breaking your things.

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Very Organized Movers.

This is my second move in my life, after 13 years in our apartment, We had a ton of stuff to move. This has been so stressful leading up till today. I had the expectation that it wasn't going to go smoothly. I wasn't as organized as I hoped, I was still packing a little bit after they arrived. My request was to make 2 stops & I would only need them for 3 hours. I am so impressed with the service. They completed the move 15 min early and never stopped to rest. These 2 men are so fast, efficient, honest, personable, & professional. They were kind and compassionate to my dog Odie, he was walking in & out of the apartment with them making sure he didn't hurt him. I will definitely refer this company to my friends and family. I am so pleased with their service.

Well done.

I would like to thank Christine and her fellow workers for making this transition work out the way it did. I recommend this company to the fullest. My moving plans changed many times and they were there accommodating me. On move day the wrapped all my stuff and loaded up for me. They were very polite and move rather quickly. This was my first move ever from my home of 42 years. My items arrived about 10 days later and they were fantastic. they even staged my new home in California. My price was very fair and my items well protected. I absolutely recommend Christine and her company American Pro Movers.

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Very Stressful Move.

Movers arrived 5 hrs late on Oct 22 to pick up in NY, causing me to miss my family gathering. Didn't adhere to contract date of not being able to receive items no earlier than, causing me to manage to come 2 days prior than planned, missing yet another family gathering to meet up with movers in FL 2 days early, where they attempted to trump up charges. Due to me not obliging to add'tl charges they kept my furniture 4-5 more weeks, with no information as to where things were, when getting delivred etc.. all whole note answering any of the phone #'s listed nor dispatch # given to me by MICHEAL, who appears to be everyones name at the company beginning with sales, beside Andy in dispatch, who is also referred to by the driver as the owner. Worst experience of my life! Its Nov 27 and I still do not have my items!! Can not answer if items damaged or not..

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Caution! Americam Pro Caution!

American Pro are totally irresponsible or worse. They gave me a firm quote after a visual inspection. In fact, I photographed everything that was to be moved in the presence of their rep in-order to avoid any dispute in the volume and quantity of items to be moved. After the truck was half loaded they demanded an additional 40%-in-effect a stick up. I told them to unload the truck and they refused without another payment. They canceled on the day they were supposed to pick up and told me they would be there the next day at 8:00 am and didn't show until noon. I was unable to use a non-refundable airfare as a result. It is impossible to get them on the phone after you give them a deposit. I've called 17-times and left 17-messages over 3-days as well as 6-emails without a response. However when they were trying to get me to commit to their firm they called ceaselessly, multiple times a day, even after telling them that I didn't yet have a closing date for the sale of my house. They said my things would be delivered in a week and needless to say that didn't happen and I have no way to know when or if my things will arrive because no one answers the phone or emails. Warning do you homework before using American Pro!

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Florida

Poor unprofessional service.

In my experience, I would never use them again. This is our story. We called for a quote. They requested a detailed list of the items being moved for truck space allocation. We packed all items as they requested. I.e. bubble wraped and disassemblied at which point they provided a price quote of $1100.00. We then signed off the agreement and provided the requested deposit. This appeared to be the best quote and service provided for our move. So we went ahead and agreed to the move. When the movers showed up to load the truck, that's when it all went south. They loaded the truck then informed us that they had to utilize specific packing materials which took up more space than the agreed upon quote. We actually had less material to move than we thought. At this point we were informed that the price would increase to $2200.00. Upon complaining to the movers they called the office supervisor who reduced the price to about $1900.00 and would not charge for the additional packing. At this point we had no choice but to accept this as we had to execute our move. But wait, there is more. The loaders then requested their "customery 18-20% tip" as if you were in a restaurant tipping your server. Are you kidding me?? Loading the truck is part of paying for the move. VERY INAPPROPRIATE! Again having no choice at this point we gave them $200.00 SIC! Always thought you paid the tip at the end of the meal based on the quality of service. Hmm, not good. When the furniture finally arrived a day late because they apparently do not maintain their trucks, It arrived on a different carrier. The men from Gulf Coast movers were outstanding and more concerned with making our move a positive experience and less concerned with American Pro Movers policy of charging the customer for moving furniture up more then 7 steps. Second story apartments are typically 13 steps from the street level. Seems like price gouging to me. The gulf coast movers did it all. No problems. Even when they noticed some assembly hardware missing, they got the job done and asked for nothing. Seems to me that Gulf Coast would be a better mover than American Pro.

Buyer Beware.

Long-distance move from Secaucus, NJ to Dallas, TX

HIGHLY NOT recommended.

HIGHLY NOT recommended. The company is SCAMMERS & LOOTERS. The Sales guy Jack gave very low estimate for moving all House hold stuff from NJ To Texas (Dallas). The guys came 5 hours late on the Scheduled day. On arrival the person who came was very very rude. He loaded half of the stuff in the truck & told for remaining items we will have to pay double the amount from Original estimation. After 2 hours of very pain full discussion we have to give up & pay the price (Looters). We were promised that our goods will leave NJ of 29th June & will reach Dallas on 5th July. We reached Drove to Dallas & Reached on 3rd July. However the Goods never left NJ till 5th July. We were camping in our own home for 3 weeks as the Good arrived 3 weeks later then on the promised date / week. On arrival again we were demanded additional money. Again we did not had choice other then paying more money for receiving our goods. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF & SALES PEOPLE. PLEASE DO NOT FALL IN THE TRAP. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Professionals at it's Best!

We were totally satisfied. At first I had much reservation hiring a company for my senior parents because of past bad experiences. Initially I spoke with Grant that offered many services the company had and an estimate that was quite competitive. He reassured me of a window for pickup and confirmed within 24 hrs. The crew was early and Nagee (forman ) assessed our 3 bedroom home along with the three other crew members and quickly got started in an organized manner. Each man separeted to there area in an systematic method and packed until completion labeling and listing each item. I often watched in amazement of their technique as if they were robots accomplishing a goal, rather impressive! It was as if our items were packed factory sealed. The professionalism and respect of this crew was astounding for my parents and their home which made this great transition much easier. The gentleman that organized the packing in the truck used every possible angle to fit their item uniformly and neat. He did a great job considering my parents furniture had many variance angles. Upon finishing the job Nagee sat us down and went over the contract and went over the itemized list of what went on the truck, answered any questions my parents had even worked with his boss Andy to offer any discounts to help with their move. This was a 2300 cubic ft move rather large. We underestimate the cubic feet and required an additional truck the following day to pick up the balance. Our experience was much like the first. If I had ONE recommendations to offer it would be that the company would off the crew tools to be the best to accomplish there job suchas, dollies and lifting straps and hand carts.
